98 gtx ltd taking in alot of water

I am very new to owning a watercraft and me and my friend took them out yesterday for the first time since buying them. Everything was going great till about an hour into the ride I noticed my seadoo looked like it was sitting low in the water. I took my seat off to find about 4" of water in the hull. I think the leak is coming in from the back but I am not sure. Like I said I am extremely new to these things and will take any advice I can.

first thing reach in and grab your motor and try to move it side to side and see if any of the motor mounts have play or are broken.....then check your carbon ring on the driveshaft......fill the hull with water on the trailer and see where it comes out of, or when it is in the water see where it starts coming in from.....make sure the drain plugs are in and not leaking as well.

RE: taking in water

There is a rubber tube about 3-4 inches that connects the exhaust manifold to the muffler, check that this piece doesn't have a perforation in it..if it has after time the water that would otherwise be going out the exhaust with fumes etc will build up in the hull.

Check the inlet hose to the motor..probably not the cause BUT check it just in case.

In addition to the other suggestions, make sure your suction bailers have the two plastic tubes inside the pump. If the tubes are missing water will be pumped into the hull instead of being sucked out.

:agree: when i first got my challenger i took it out the first time and opened the engine bay and noticed water splashes on the top of the foam of the storage area and on the top of the motor and it ended up being a hole in the water inlet hose on my port engine; 3.99 at an auto-part store and i was back in shape. but mine was not as bad to fill the hull with water.
