I am redoing all the hoses due to age and damage. Can anyone post pictures of the engine bay for a 98 GTX LTD or similar. I need to see if all the hoses are routed/mounted along the left and right wall or if there are any that lay on the bottom. Most of mine are missing/damaged so I cant tell. One in particular is the hose that attaches to bottom of head pipe and goes to rear of ski and attaches to the wall (plus a tee to another component of the exhaust). Item #28 in pic

The bottom head pipe hose on mine runs laying in the hull bottom under engine. Comes to back of ski to a Tee. The bull head side of tee goes down to exhaust outlet on left rear side of hull. The run side of tee goes to the back of hull that I believe is the flush connection.20210911_144708.jpg

Those are some difficult pictures to take as both ends of the hoses are difficult to catch in one shot. They are pretty simple if you left the original hoses attached. I'll see what I have in the way of pictures. I always mark the engine connection end of the hoses and where they go. I have A 2000 RX outside which is basically the same.

The big pain in the azz one is mid engine on the right side. Don't miss that one. I did once. Got warm water in the bilge. LOL If you have specific questions post up I'm sure someone can help. Good Luck.

Yes, that is one of the hoses, is yours anchored to the sidewall or is running along the bottom? And can you explain the second paragraph, not sure what you are talking about...i don't want to miss anything!

The mid engine fitting he is talking about is on right hand side of ski. It is down near bottom of cylinders. It is about center of the 2 spark plugs. It is right at the countershaft oil plug.

It would be #1 in the drawing you posted.

You can run the hoses any way you want as long as they get where they are suppose to go. I just keep them neat and out of the way as much as I can. That hose you ask about on my ski lays in the bildge but I use ty-wraps to secrure the hoses. Just spend some time looking... it will all work out. Good Luck !

Is there anywhere that I shouldn't use the ty rap 'ties". I have been replacing hoses left and right on my ski...been using them, sometimes I reuse the metal clamps, mainly around the fuel selector and fuel level sensor. The carbs have about half metal half ty rap. The pipe head and its systems all have Ty rap. See any issue?

I used metal clamps on all my fuel lines and the carbs. I used Ty Raps on my head pipe with no problems. Yet.

Alright i found another check valve without a hose, need help. The picture below is the grommet connected to the hull right behind the MPEM. Now I did notice the battery had a hose that looks like it goes to the outside, any real reason why?, is this an old battery config? It is also way far away from the battery which doesn't make much sense (same side though) unless i got a few of these hoses wrong. see pictures.

The Battery vent hose on my 98 & 99 come out about 3/4 way up to front of hull just below the rub rail to a grommet and check valve.

To vent the dangerous hydrogen gases outside the hull.

I use AGM batteries and don't use the lead acid. I never remove the battery hose though, just in case someone needs it.

is it right behind the mpem? Is it necessary any more with batteries we have today?
