One of the areas I am having issues with is filling the crank case with oil on the 947. When I first started servicing the crank case I could only pull out about 10 to 15 ml of oil. When I added new oil it would only take a ml or two at a time, I would have to wait until it went down to add more. So last night I got the idea of rotating the engine to make it go quicker. It worked. I left the plug off all night and looked at it this morning. It seems about 5ml or so leaked out, ie I have a small puddle under the engine. How do I tell if I have enough in there...or maybe too much? I certainly cant pull out 30 or 40 mls to see. I figured I have about 25 to 30 mls added as of right now.

Any gurus out there got any ideas?

Are you referring to oil in the Crank case itself of inside the counterbalance? If you're having that amount of oil pooling in the crank than you have a larger issue. The oil pump should not be supplying that much.

I am referring to the counterbalance that you have to put oil in. Around 40ml of SAE 30... I just cant figure out how to verify how much I have in there and if I have enough.

I think what I will do is now that I know it is full, i.e. up to the fill hole. I will take about 3 ml out so there is room for expansion and call it good. Check it after the first good ride.
