I have a 98 GTS that is registering 12 V at 5Krpm. I have the shop manual and it states that you need to perform the static and dynamic tests on the 717 engine using a 4 pin magneto harness adaptor 295 000 131. Is this harness a must? Is it possible to test the two (mag/reg) by finding the pins/wires? I have found no mention of any harness adaptor in the forum anywhere. Am I the only person testing the two using the manual? I prefer not to replace the part and hope it does the trick (replace the reg and find out the magneto coil is bad / reg was fine).
