98 gsx ltd taking on water please help

hey all. i've got a 98 gsx ltd that is taking on water. from what i can tell it is coming from where the carbon ring and the ring seal carrier meet.my question is do either of these wear out enough to allow a leak? does the rubber boot give out? any help is greatly appreciated.

You can try to push the rubber boot closer to make carbon seal tighter fit if this does not work you may need a new carbon seal and maybe a new rubber boot. :cheers:

thanks for the reply. thats what i'm trying to figure out if the boot is supposed to have enough tension to prevent this or if the carbon ring is worn out.
