98 GSX Ltd metal shavings shorting stator

Where exactly are these metal shavings coming from that are shorting out my stator causing my machine not to turn on ? what needs to be done to fix it?

They come from the bendix,,,you will need to remove the pipe,,and lift the front of the motor inorder to remove the front stator cover.
