The little bugger runs great..but..in a pulsating manner. It will accellerate and run great for about five seconds then as if I had just let off of the throttle it loses fuel flow for about five seconds (still idling)...then it takes off for another five seconds of pure speed! I would think fuel filter if the on/off cycle was not so TIMELY. Would it be the fuel pump?

Check your fuel lines, if they are the grey ones they will need replacing. The internals of the fuel lines breakdown and plug the small filters in the carbs. You can just buy black automotive fuel lines and clamps at most parts stores.I think you nee about 25 feet of 1/4 inch line and about 20 calmps. Clean the fuel filters in the carbs and a then see how it runs. If it is running and starving for fuel it can cost you a set of pistons. Let us know how you make out.

problem does sound like dirty carb filters, clean them and I'll bet it will run fine. then change the fuel lines so it doesn't happen again.
