3 separate challengers I've worked on had seized top ends.
Precursor to this was running the wrong oil.
After seeing two more top ends get cooked. I found it is required to replace the oil pump and oil filter in order to eliminate the issue. As well as clean all traces of the old oil.
I'm curious though, what would possibly fail in the oil pump ?
After replacing the two parts and top end, all is good.
This actually happened on my personal boat as well. Bench tested perfectly and cooked top end. Had to replace the pump to fix it. But on the bench there was no sign of any issues and the filter inside wasn't gelled. + adjustments were all perfect.
