So,

I have challenger with twin 717s went out for a ride last week after changing spark plugs everything was running smooth never been better. Was at WOT and out goes my starboard engine, so we limp it back on the other engine. I get back to the dock pull the spark plugs there bone dry. At this point I'm thinking carb for sure and that I just f'ed my top end. So we do a compression test 142. We have a strong spark on both spark plugs, took the carb apart and it looks good nice and clean just looking for a little advice and could be the potential problem. To make an engine run air, spark, and fuel... So I'm either thinking there's an issue with the fuel pump? Or internal carb problem any takers?

The plugs would be dry, if it shut off at high RPM's.

Since I'm not in the boat... it's hard for me to say exactly what happened. But fuel issues don't normally happen "all of the sudden" or "out of the blue." If there were some tell-tail issues coming on... like hard starting, or stalling... then I would be more inclined to say it was fuel.

Anyway... it can't hurt to pull the carbs, and fuel pumps. (if you have remote pumps) and give them a good cleaning. Also... if this happened, and you fuel tank was low... it could have been something in the tank, that plugged the pick-up tube.
