I had problems last week, ski wont crank. Checked everything, jumped solenoid, would not start. Sent the starter to the shop Nothing wrong, put it back and now the engine cranks but do not start. Looks like the carbs are not getting fuel. Before I continue I will like to ask does the 1997 XP has a primer bulb? I notice one same as the outboards, but it is hard to pump and I notice I could not get any gas after this primer (I think it is bad) Did anybody had this kind of problem? Checked all the fuel lines and they seem to be clean. Checked the valve that turns off the fuel and it was dirty but that was not the problem.
Please help! I have this ski for two weeks and still can not ride it.

Pull the fuel line off the carb ans see it you have fuel to that point. If you do it might be the internal filters in the carbs. If that is the case remove the carburetors and clean them out. Be careful not to tear the diaphragms or you'll have to get a rebuild kit for them. Also if it still has the gray fuel lines replace them with the clamps. If you want you could join as a "premium member". As a premium member you can down load a authentic seadoo manual from the seadoo manual library. In the library is a variety of manuals for almost all years and models. You can view as many as you like on line as a PDF file, or download it and print it for your personal and privet use. There are operator manuals and repair manuals for you to do your own repairs on your seadoo. The repair manuals have everything from troubleshooting, repair procedures to winterizing. It contains wire diagrams torque specs and pictures for disassemble and assemble instructions. In the spec sheets it tells everything needed to maintain oil changes, spark plug gaps, carburetor rebuilds and impeller wear ring tolerances. Click on the "Seadoo Manuals" link at the top of the page for more details. If you need any help or get in a jam, we are always here to answer your questions too.

Karl:

Thank you very much for you suggestions.
I already have a manual but before messing around I like to ask.
Does this seadoo comes with the primer pump? I think the old owner has installed it. Just in case I put a new one.
I am going to change the hoses (they look a little tedious to do them. I will check the filters as you said.
I checked the filter that is in the return and it had a lot of dirt. Also one of the lines (reserve) coming from the fuel switch was clog with dirt.
I am going to clean everything and keep you posted.

Excelent forum. Thank you
