97 xp feels like fuel cutting

I went out this weekend and the seadoo kept cutting out. I would be crusing and the seadoo would die for a second then keep going. Sometimes it would loose speed then pick right back up. Feels kind of like the fuel is cutting out. Not sure if it is the fuel though. This was the first time on it this year. It never did this last year. Any idea what it could be?

cleaned/rebuilt carbs lately.

I bought the seadoo last year, I have never had them cleaned. I was planing on getting it done though. You think that could be why?

what speed rpm's is it doing it at?

Yes, that is the problem clean the carbs. if your careful and don't rip the diaphragms. you won't need to buy anything. Use carb cleaner and clean all the passages real good.

I have a 96 xp and had the same problem there is a little round filter in both carbs one is behind the fuel pump and the other you cant miss when you take the carb apart you have to clean both of them i kept on cleaning mine and they kept on getting clogged also check to see what color your fuel lines are if they are grey that is the problem after i replaced them with new i haven't had a single problem before the ski ran like crap now its rippin
