Hello everyone! I have a 97 SPX 787cc and i cleaned the carbs today. When i put everything back on, my seadoo wouldn't start. I checked the fuel lines and fuel is not easily flowing to the carbs. What could this be? I'm new at this. Before i removed the carbs my ski was idling super high and shutting off. Previous owner said the ski was bogging for him. Help :/

Check to make sure you got the pulse line connected back up properly. The fuel pump is basically a diaphragm in MAG carb. Make sure you reassembled correctly and you have no leaks.

1) How do you check for leaks?
2)When i took out the diaphragms from my carbs they wouldn't sit flat they got all curled up is that normal?

If the diaphragms didn't seat correctly, you're not going to get any fuel pumping. I believe there's a few places you can order just the diaphragms, otherwise you'll need rebuild kits for both carbs.

and when i take the fuel line off the carb and crank it, is fuel suppose to be pouring out or it is the vacuum that sucks the fuel in the carb?

It's pressure and vacuum working on it. The pump pulls from the feed line (vacuum) and puts pressure on the return line.
Just a random thought, but what color are your fuel lines? If they are grey, you may have noticed some green stuff at the connections. These grey lines rot and clog everything and must be replaced. Look in the tech section of the forum for some great info on this subject.

No this seadoo is completely rebuilt no grey fuel lines. Uhm...and yeah i'm not sure if i checked properly to see if the vacuum was working but i took the fuel in pipe off and i put my finger where the pipe went into and i cranked to see if there was suction and i felt nothing.

Have you looked at an expanded view of the carb? Did you get all the parts back on like this?

Is the line from the engine to the pump in good shape (connects to part 56)? Hose clamps on? Are any of the lines kinked or tied too tightly to the hull or each other. Is the fuel selector valve also new? Is it in either the up or down position? Try it both ways. Is the fuel filter new? Is the o-ring at the top good, no cuts, not crushed (looking for an air leak)? Lines to the fuel baffle (pickup tube) are on right?

I took the fuel line from the baffle to see which one was return and which one was fuel in to the carbs. After i figured that out, i put gas into the line and blew it through. It came out of the other side fine. So then i put more gas into the line and put the fuel in line into the carb and i tried to start it while i blew the gas through and it wouldn't start, but when i took off the intakes and sprayed a little bit of gas into the carbs the ski started. Also i'm pretty sure i put all the parts back properly but when i was putting it back the #28 on BOTH carbs would not sit! Diaphragm was all curled up ~.~ so i've read that if those don't sit properly than you're pretty much screwed. I did align everything but the force of the diaphragm trying to curl up again is probably making problem inside the carb right?

Yep, I am pretty sure you need to replace those diaphragms. I can not imagine them working the way you describe them.

Break it back down and let them dry out a little. Then see if they will go in. If not, order a rebuild kit for each. I pretty sure the SBT kit is not genuine Mikuni but it comes with a nice picture guide. They have kits that exclude the needle and seat which is where it's important and keep your old spring. If you feel like you need those, look around the internet or call SBT to verify if what they have is Mikuni.

Prime the fuel system. Use a mist bottle and mist a little fuel in carbs while trying to start. Or pressurize the fuel tank to force fuel through the fuel lines. Or put an inline fuel build and do it manually. Everytime I rebuild my carbs they need alittle assistance to prime the fuel system so try one of the above.

Yeah i haven't rebuilt it yet waiting for the kit and hoping that the carbs are the issue ~.~
