When running boat at full throttle boat stalls. Every time I try to increase the speed the boat stalls. runs great at a no wake speed???? New female boat owner and clueless what's going on? It doesn't seem like it's planing and running full speed before it stalls. I have replaced the spark plugs, throttle cable. I think boat has been smoking more then usual but my friends don't seem to think so. I was told I was flushing it out wrong. I have received conflicting solutions 1. water in fuel take and use dry gas 2. carb needs replacing.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
Thanks!

The most probable problems are:

1) You have an air leak in the fuel system going up to the carbs. (normally the select valve, or in the filter)

2) Time to rebuild the carbs.

Unless you have really neglected the boat... the carbs almost never need replaced. Also... if the boat will start and idle... then the fuel is fine. So, don't pour in any more "Fix" chemicals. They are actually hard on a 2-stroke engine.

Thank You for the info because I was going to put in dry gas today but now I won't. I purchased the boat used so I'm not sure how well it's been maintained but the exterior is in mint condition so I'm only assuming it has been well maintained. I had some issues last year with stalling and my mech said I had a crack in my carb in which he sealed with a very strong epoxy. So, I'm assuming that I may need to replace that carb? I just don't know what carb (mag or PTO) that needs replacing. The sea doo shop here on the island said they may have a used one that they could sell me? Would you suggest I purchase a new one or used one? Trying to keep my expense down since I really didn't pay much for boat. Last week I stopped at 2 marine repair shops and I received conflicting info regarding what my problem is...so just trying to do my homework first so I won't be taken advantage of being a new female boat owner.

Thank You for your reply......any info is greatly appreciated.

Unless the shop has a good reputation... I don't normally trust shops. Also... if they tried to fix a carb with glue.... they are moron's. (sorry) The carb housings are aluminum, and they can be welded.

Secondly... unless they are in the business of parting-out PWC and boats... I wouldn't trust the used carbs they have. If they were taken off a boat/ski... there was a reason for it. I have a bunch of "Used" carbs in my shop... but they are just for parts. None of them are good enough, "as-is" to be put back on a boat. BUT... I don't have a problem with used carbs in general. Assuming they came off a boat/ski that was being disassembled for parts.

Unfortunately... if they were cracked... and that shop put glue in the crack... it may be impossible to weld at this point. (aluminum welding isn't easy, and contaminates can make it impossible)

If you have a friend who can take the carbs off for you... you can send them to me for a second opinion. That would only cost you the shipping.

At the minimum... I would take it to another shop for a second opinion... but like I was saying... your problem could be a simple air leak.

Take them off yourself and send them to DrHonda.
:agree:

If your not sure if you can do it, Yes you can!!!

Its very easy to get air box off to get to carbs bolts. Only takes simple allen sockets and ratchet.

Save your money from deceptive stealers. Any and all work can be done by you with a little help from manual and this site.......
