97 Sportster oil injector issue

Hello everyone.

I’m new to the seadoo world. I have a 1997 Seadoo Sportster and I’m having an issue with the overheating warning buzzer. If I was to bypass the auto-oiler and pre-mix will this be detrimental to the motor?

thanks in advance.

Your oiler has nothing to do with your overheat situation,,,going to premix on a jetboat would be a huge hassel,,,,check that all your cooling lines are secure,,start the boat on dry land, and run water through it,,,check that pisser/s are working,,,check that the water injection on top of the waterbox is not leaking,,,also,,,using your hand or mirror,,,check that the lower frost plug at the front of the pipe is not leaking,,

Water was run through it and everything seems fine, the guy that’s helping me with the boat said the warning buzzer wasn’t working correctly and he was concerned if the oiler stopped working that I wouldn’t notice and overheat the boat. It’s currently not having an issue that I’m aware of. I just bought it and know very little about it.

If the oiler is not working,,,you will destroy a piston,,,there is no overheating warning,,,the overheat sensor is at the top of the cylinder cooling jacket,,,it measures the temp of the water going thru the cylinder head,,,there are no sensors for a lubrication situation on a piston/cylinder.
