i have a 97 sportster w/ 720 eng. w/ 2 carbs after idling 10 min. carbs start to drip out the venturi on top of throttle plates. I have cleaned carbs new gskts. and seals, fuel needles w/ no luck, seadoo dealer said "you probably wont get rid of that fuel drip" thanx, I called a nother dealer and they said thats strange, Ive never seen that before" . both carbs drip together and stop dripping momentarily if revved up and return to idle then start dripping again. Anybody heard of this? thanx.

Ah, you got the "Dribbles"....

What you are seeing is called "Carb Dribble". This happens when there is too much fuel being passed at low speed or idle conditions. Generally it is caused by a couple of things. First, worn needle and seat assemblies can cause a poor seal and not completely stop fuel flow. Second, you may have incorrect pop-off pressure setting. Pop-off pressure is important as it is relative to the venturi intake pressures. Assuming that you have the stock flame arrestor, intake and exhaust systems, you pop-off pressure should be around 30 to 35 psi. This is adjusted by the different springs and arm heights inside the carbs. Your problem is related to this for sure. BTW, this is common and most dealers should be familiar with this problem.
