97 Speedster-one motor won't idle under load

Hello all. I just picked up a 97 speedster with twin 720's. The boat seems to run good once up on plane but the starboard motor will not start or run at anything less then 1/4 throttle. It will idle fine out of the water. But in the water it will not. Anything less than 2500 rpm and it stumbles to a stall. I am assuming a fu mixture problem in the carb. Any suggestions?

Is the 2500 RPM in the water, or out?

Since the boat is new to you... I'd start with checking the compression before anything else. If it's good... 135 to 150 psi... then I would take the carbs off, and go thought them.

Thanks for the reply. Ccp is 130 per cylinder. 2500 is in water. It idles ok dry. Any suggestions?
