So I just picked up a 97 speedster. Completely unknown history to me. When I put the DESS lanyard on the post I get one long beep. When I hit either start button with the lanyard still attached I get one long beep. When I enter diagnostic mode by pushing a starter button 5x with the lanyard off, I get one short and one long beep which seems to mean I have successfully entered diagnostic mode. Then, when I install the lanyard in diagnostic mode I get one long beep. When I push a starter button in diagnostic mode with the lanyard on I get one long beep. I can't find any info regarding this exact result. All fuses I can find test good. I cleaned the lanyard and Dess post with warm soapy water. Fully charged exide group 24 marine battery. Both Motors turn over when I jump the solenoid. I'm just getting going on this and obviously plan to check the neutral cutoff but still wondering if someone has any ideas that might save me some time.
