My 97 speedster starts up and runs fine after blasting around the lake ,when I throttle down 1 motor idles down and dies the other motor is fine. Does anyone have any ideas? It idles at 1500 in water i tried bumping it up some more but it still did the same thing. Thanks in advance for the help

Sounds fuel related,,,,starvation,,,go through the carbs,,,costs you nothing and easy to remove from your equations,

Thanks for the reply, I rebuilt the carb, and it still contunued, then replaced the carb with a new rebuilt carb, and the same issue. It runs fine until i back the throttle down after running around the lake, assoon as i throttle down to idle to one motor dies, the other is fine.

Almost sounds like you have a partially blocked low speed pilot circuit?,,,did you see the spray pattern of the bypass holes,,,they are very small?

Thanks again for the reply i did not look at the spray pattern. Whats the likelihood i rebuild the original carb, and it continues, then get another new rebuilt carb and still the same problem? I set the idle to 1500 in the water, on the initial start up it starts and idles fine, I have to idle out about 1000ft to get out of no wake zone so i throw it in forward and it idles all the way out no problems. I open it up runs fine race around the lake and as soon as i back it down to enter no wake , The rpms go down and the one motor dies unless I feather it to keep it from dying. I m totally puzzled, and no way a expert with pwc's
I just dive in and try to figure stuff out, no one works on these in illinois that i know of or could trust, only rely on you guys .

When I rebuilt the original carb I used mikuni kit.
The rebuilt i bought after said it was a genuine mikuni carb, but I dont know if they used mikuni parts or not. My rebuild with the mikuni kit made no change with the dying out when idling down. Should i do another rebuild kit, or get another carb again? or look else where for the issue , so frustrating!!

No need to buy any carb...just service the ones you have properly,,,is the tank venting?,,is popoff to spec?,,don?'t fret,,,someone on here will know,,,
