New in this forum (very good one)
I have been boating all my life and first time with a PWC.
Bought a used one, very good condition (seems). Before taking it to the sea I tested in a lake. The first time I turned over and forgot to put the lanyard in the vest, so it run for about 30 seconds up side down.
I try to start it again and after a minute it started. Run for 20 minutes, everything ok.
Next day took the ski to the sea. It would not start but it cranked. Battery went bad so I put a new battery and clean the spark plugs. Tryed again and will only click and no crank.
The wire that goes from the solenoid to the starter was very hot. Jumped the solenoid and nothing. I figure that the starter was bad. Took the starter to an Electric shop, they tested and it started running. They will take it appart anyway just to check everything inside.
The lanyard makes to beeps when I conected.
Any help will be appreciated. I did not know these toys were so moody!

Thanks
Giangi

..........not the 787cc....

The 787cc engine isn't really a moody engine at all and running it upside down for 30 seconds shouldn't have had any effect on it. It's like turning your weedeater upside down. It still runs.
Now on the other hand, if it were more than 30 seconds, then you may have encountered some leaning out on the carbs as the fuel system starting loosing it's prime, but that shouldn't cause the problems your having know.
While the ski was upside down, you may have turned it right side up the wrong way and ingested water into the combustion system. But if you started it as you said, then that shouldn't be a problem. Unless you failed to flush it when you brought it home.
The hot wire on your starter or battery is normally caused from using your starter for more than the 30 seconds. Drawing that many amps for more than that, will melt your wires.
Check all your fuses.........If the engine was in good shape when you bought it, then there shouldn't be a big issue with it, just from turning it over.
