97 seadoo xp final drive

i have a 97 seadoo xp and it runs great i rebuilt the engine in it last winter and ive been out 8 times this year well the other day it was makin a strange noise in the back and it was enough to make the engine harminize so somethin is not movin freely i think its in the back before the impeller like the baring or somethin its got great compression engine runs great pulls hard but it seems like the engine cant turn the prop and in turn kills the motor any help would be great im stumped...........

You might be killing your pump bearing. This could be due to the new engine not being aligned to the driveshaft and pump assembly. Any lateral loading on the shaft is going to be rough on the pump.

Remove the pump assembly and see if the impeller turns freely. If not, the bearing could be toast.

she ran great all day then on the way back it bogged skretched then died which baring would cause that front or back?? sorry i want to get wrenchin on it im on vacation

buy a used pump on ebay. check the oil in it and go. then start worrying about yours. otherwise you will blow the summer trying to become a pump mechanic. buy a plastic one. they are faster than bronze. cheaper too. anything from a 787 type motor will have same impeller. anything but 580 will be close enough for now. even a 580 impeller will run ok, but you will lose 10 mph of top end.
