I have a 97 seadoo xp with the 787 engine. I've ridden it a few seasons now without issue. Right now nothing happens when I put the dess tether on. Press the start button twice and the console powers up and variable trim turns on. Press start a few times more and it makes the beep like I have no key attached.

I've been through every connection I can find a dozen times over and have tested the dess post "per shop manual instruction" dess post appears to be fine. But who known.. it may not be. I took the machine to the local dealer to have the mpem checked for key code and their machine couldn't access the seadoo. "Nothing happened when they hooked to the dess post"

I would try replacing the DESS post first you can send the MPEM to Westside Powersports for testing too.

I've had the wiring in the post be bad as well - check it all the way back to the mpem. I replaced the post in mine and all was well.
