97 Seadoo RPM Drop

I was riding in my 1997 Seadoo jetboat with single 110 horse power engine today. At full throttle it runs at 5000 RPM. It will randomly jump to 7200 RPM, then drop back to 6200 RPM. I could not get any type of consistency to determine when the RPM would jump to 7200. Any suggestions?

I owned a 1997 challenger with a 110hp single engine. It should run at 7300 rpms. It sounds like you need to remove the carburetors and clean them. If you're careful and don't tear or damage the diaphragms you won't need to buy a rebuild kit. Pay attention to the internal filters too.
