I Just purchase a 1997 seadoo gsx.Everthing is in great condition but the only problem it has, is that when you reach 40 mhp it cuts the speed continously up and down. I belive is a carb problem.
but if some has any other suggestions plase let me know.
thanks
Juan
The grey lines are deteriating inside and the break up is going into your carbs. You'll need to replace all that fuel line with black fuel line from your local auto parts store. Get you some nice new clamps and get-r-done.
You'll also need to pull off the pulse plate to get to the filters inside the carbs. They are small and most likely filled with bits of that fuel line. The pulse line plate has 4 phillip head screws in it. It's the plate with the hose that comes from the engine to the nipple in the middle.
hey seadoosnipe,
thanks for your advice, I replace all the fuel lines for black ones just like you said and spend a little money on the carbs.
The jet ski is working pretty good, but now that my girlfriend bought a wakeboard, and I am getting ready to pull her out of the water, the engine or (impeller) feels the weight, it seems like the engine is doing it's job without going anywhere for a few seconds only.
in other words I feel like the engine or impeller spins in false.
If it is only for a few seconds it may be normal. It does not sound that bad to me. ps. you should fell the pump trying to grab thow. It may allso do beter if every wear part in pump was replaced. like wear ring, impeller and pump seal. I have a much heavier boat than yours as mine is a 14 foot boat and it will pull 600 lbs of people with one of the persons on a tube that weighs 200+ lbs and it sounds as you are describing. my engine is pushing close to the same hp as yours at least I think it may be.
