New to this site but long time seadoo owner. I have a 97 gtx just hit 50hrs. Was out riding 4 weeks ago at 55mph open throttle at 7000rpms running nice and smooth then I made a sharp turn and the engine died took it to a shop and they changed plugs and pulled and cleaned the carbs thay told me it was fixed. I picked it up and put it in the water and now at full open throttle it hardly goes and the rpms max at 3380 also noticed when I start it now a red light and the word "MAINTENANCE" flashes for about 30 seconds on the digital gauge. On the trailer it will go all the way to 7000rpm. I took it back to the shop and now 3 weeks later thay tell me that they cant figure out the problem so I picked it up and here I am. Anyone have any ideas?

PERFORMANCE TIPS
The "Left Turn Syndrome"
You will find in all instances that your watercraft will turn more easily to the right than to the left. The reasons are basically simple. First, engine torque constantly places pressure on the hull to turn right. If your engine's performance is marginal, you can notice a dramatic falloff in power in a hard turn. This power falloff can't always be blamed on the engine, being over-propped can also cause the engine to slow enough to fall off its power peak. An engine with a peaky power curve is especially susceptible to a very dramatic power loss in a hard left turn. Most recently, with the increase of Sport and Runabout racing, there has been a marked improvement in hull design with a dramatic increase in "G" forces encountered while turning: over 2.5 G's. In some instances such a hard turn can cause momentary loss of power due to fuel starvation in the carbs. Jetting changes cannot correct this situation, the best solution is to rotate the mounting of the carbs 90 deg, so that their throttle shafts are perpendicular to the crankshaft axis rather that parallel. To date, this solution to the problem has been 100% successful

hey sean.....pull the airbox off, make sure the carbs are in synct. Then check the settings....heres your specs...
1997 GTX 787 270500284 270500285 BN-40I (SB) MAIN-142.5 PILOT-70 1.5n/s 23 - 43psi LOW- 1 HIGH- (MAG-0 PTO-1/2)..good luck

Still have the grey fuel hoses? That will clog up your newly cleaned carbs.

Check your fuel selector valve. Try running on Reserve position for a while. Sometimes the valve gets gummed up and restricts flow. A hard turn can generate enough force to stifle fuel flow.

Yes I just changed all the fuel lines and pulled off the selector valve and cleaned it and blew compressed air through it also put new plugs and checked the compression again its saying 125 on each cylinder. I hooked up a hose to it and ran it on the trailer today. I was able to smoothly get it up to 7000rpm but will it do the same in the water?? No way to tell I guess until its sitting in the water
