97 GTX... No spark and no beeps. HELP

i have a 97 GTX. Yesterday it ran but the starter was weak. I replaced the starter today and hooked everything back up. when i connect my lanyard I get NOTHING. No info gauge, and no beeps.

Battery is brand new, lanyard is clean and cleaned the terminals. Checked and cleaned all ground connections and checked all fuses. When I jump across the starter relay the motor turns over but i still have no spark and no info gauge.

I went thru the same thing with my 97 XP. New batt, new plugs, new plug wires and new high torque starter. When I first reconnected everything it took a good 5-10 min for the mpem to power up. Once I started getting the two beeps, it started ok. You might also want to check the connectors going into the mpem. Mine had some light green and white scale on the pins. I cleaned them with CRC elect. contact cleaner, then greased them with di-electric grease. Good luck.

Did you clean the dess cap and post? No beeps means that the circuit is open. When it closes and the mpem does its self check you get two beeps. Also might want to check the fuses in the block on the mpem. The computer itself has a 5 amp fuse.
