I have a 97 GTX that has ran fine, but the last time we had it out it engaged but would not turn over. Changed batts, same. Removed starter, checked ok. Put it back in and removed spark plugs, turns over easy but 1 cylinder spews oil out the spark plug hole. What would cause this?
Any insight you might have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

You mean that the starter engages with a press of the start button but the engine won't run? You only get oil out of one cylinder? Has this ski been spewing out a lot of smoke in the exhaust when you ran it? Is the injection pump still in use?

it doesn't turn over with the plugs in, and there is a lot of oil that splashes all over the inside when the piston comes up on compression. Should there be that much oil splashing out? I can't remember if this one smoked alot or a little. We are still using the oil injector.

Are you sure that it's oil and not oily water coming out? I can't see you having enough oil in the cylinders to prevent the engine from turning over, but if you had significant water in the cylinders it would prevent the engine from turning over. There are oil seals on either side of the rotary gear and if you're only getting a puddle of oil in one cylinder I would suspect that one of the seals is leaking oil out. The oil level in your tank must drop fast! Wonder if you left the one plug loose on the wet cylinder if the engine would fire and run on the other. Your battery may be a poor replacement, might need a higher amp hour battery. I had to get a better battery for mine.
