I have a 97 GTX that I replaced the engine in recently. It seems to sputter / idle irratic and even sputter on take off if you try to take off slow or drive at slow speeds. Ir runs great on top end and will do 59mh across the water.

Is is normal for it to sound like its missing at low rpm's? Also it starts good with the choke but once warmed up you have to give it some throttle to start it.

Thanks Timmy but can I get a translation? Its possible my carb linkage it in fact out of adjustment since replacing the engine but how do I go about re adjusting. what is LSA at 1, etc....

a;lright dud...pull tairbox off, and you can visually see, if carb linkage is off, by the gap of the bottom butterflies. See the gap between the butterfly and wall of carb, but if you didnt mess with the "linkage" adaptor rod, then you should be ok.

LSA= low speed adjuster, thats the needle adjuster on bottom part of carb, behind the throttle plate. It has a "bar" thru it, so looks like a "T", for easy adjusting.

HSA= high speed adjuster, this one located on opposite side of carb, at top. Should have black cap on it. Adjust those, to the settings posted earlier...

Thanks Timmy. I think my problem is going to be with the linkage arm....I did accidentally adjust it while trying to take it off. I will check all the settings.
