Is it alright to mix sea doo mineral oil with a kawasaki brand similar oil for the fuel mix? or would it be best to drain and clean the oil tank first? Is the tank easily removed and how much oil should be used per tank of fuel?

I am sure someone more knowledgeable than I will chime in shortly - if I recall correctly I thought the 97 GTX manual called for synthetic? As for usage I have run for about 5 hours and used 1/2 tank oil? I was concerned if my oil pump was working and used a bit of premix to build a comfort level that it was working.

Drain the tank...

You can easily drain the tank without removing it by taking off the vent line hose at the top of the tank. You'll need a vacuum pump of some sort to get all the oil out.

I used my shop vac by taping the vent line hose to it and another short piece of hose. You tape both the hoses to the end of the vac. The short piece of hose is used to draw clean air, to keep vapors from building in the vac.

It worked for me.........

The manual suggest you use synthetic oil. But, as I was told by a tech at Amsoil, if your engine has been running on the mineral oil through it's lifetime, dont' change it now. If you ever replace the engine with a remanafactured engine, you should go to synthetic then.
