Hi to all new to the post.

I have a 97 seadoo GTS. I thank that it has a fuel pick up problem. My manual does not tell me everything I think I need to know about the fuel system. My question is how does the fuel get picked up from the tank. The book states that the pump is in the carb, But what makes the pump work. Thanks for all that helps.

Go thru your fuel system...theres filter at end of baffle in the tank, then check fuel lines, make sure they aren't grey, then carefully go thru carbs, if diaphram is wavey/ distorded, then get rebuild kit.
Generally, my understanding, works off vacuum causes by pistons moving, and little fuel tube from carb to casing..?

Thanks Timmyboy

I have went and checked some more things out and I have found out that yes it does work off vac. I have also done a vac. test on the carb itself and it will not hold a vac as the book said (for 10 sec). It will not hold for 1 sec. So I am on my way to get a kit. Thanks Joe

it is actually a pulse. pressure-vac-pressure-vac as the pistons compress the gas in the lower crankcase. acts like the fuel pump drive on gas car engines. pushes the diaphragm up and down. simple design. durable. but nothing lasts forever.
