97 GTI MPEM Connection

I am at wits end. Local dealer tells me after doing a diagnostic that the MPEM needs to be replaced. I order one myself, after already buying one last summer. Installed it. Took back to dealer for carb, fuel work and tuneup, etc. They tell me that they cant connect to the ski. Said that Seadoo suggested they use older software. They get some coonection but the connection drops. I have now spent 700 bucks on 2 MPEM and cant use the ski. The y have basically send me home with no suggestions. Obviously the last time I go there. BTW, I didnt realize that I was replacing the same MPEM until I took the old one off and the Manufacture date was 2006!! Oh well. Anyone have any suggestions.

this is about the simplest ski to work on ever made. pull the carb, clean it out. tune-up consists of cleaning out the fuel filters and new plugs. what does the dealer need to hook up to the ski for? there is no fuel injection to diagnose. it either has spark or it doesn't. you test that with a spark plug and crank the motor. does it still run, or is it dead? did you do a compression test?
