I have a 1997 GTI . It runs perfect, however I have a difficult time starting it cold. Once its been started it starts instantly everytime but sitting overnight the next morning you have to crank probably twenty seconds before it will start. Any suggestions?
Thanks G-Rabbit.

I was thinking of that and thanks for the link. But could there be a under lying problem? You all so said remove the choke. Were you talking about the pull knob and the choke plate or just the knob and If there room to install another knob next to the choke knob would you install it there? Sorry for all the ?? I'm new to the jet ski world.
Thanks G-Rabbit.

may be something restricting the "pull" of gas to carb/s. Might need to clean/rebuild them.
I think, this quik fix to non-start'n/wearing out starter/battery. Quik blast of gas, and bamm...
For install, remove the "entire" choke assy. With "not messing with choke", the butterflies in carb stay open anyway, when you "pull" the choke, you close the "flappers", shut'n off air into carb/s. So, remove the choke handle and "unlink" the cable off carb, then follow instructs. on primer kit, which is installed where choke was. Job aint difficult...

I'll take a "stab" at it. I suggest that somehow, the fuel is leaking out of the fuel system somewhere, while it sits overnight.
Either the carbs, or the fuel lines. It has to crank a while, (which works the fuel pump) and pump up the fuel system, then she starts.

Remember, these have an accelerator pump, which is hooked to the throttle. Maybe try "pumping" the throttle several times, before trying to start, next time. IF it does not work, then I would surmise that the carb float bowl is empty. (or the fuel pump is not working) So, I am agreeing with Timmy, on the rebuild the carbs idea, but adding details, so that you can understand the process.

I hope I am helpful.

Best Regards,

Nate
