took my '97 GSX out today, i ran it for 20 minutes, it ran fine. My wife got on and ran for 20 minutes, she was going about 40 mph but said a couple times it seemed to bog down a little. I got on again, started out fine, went about 200 feet and it suddenly bogged down and wouldn't go over 10 mph. I limped it back to my dock. if it matters we were switching off at a sandy beach so some sand may have got sucked up. Back at the dock I hosed out everything from the back, hooked it up to the hose and ran for a couple minutes. I did a compression test and got 150 and 145 on the 2 cylinders, last year I got 160 and 150. I changed the spark plugs and poured in a can of SeaFoam, the "old" plugs were put in last year and only had 10 hours on them. I will take it out in the morning to see if the new plugs resolved the problem. It still has the gray furl lines that I need to replace but until today it ran great.

I also have a '96 GSX that has the standard problem of bogging down at full throttle, I replaced the gray fuel lines and put in a can of SeaFoam, I did not clean the carbs yet because I've never done it and wanted to try the SeaFoam first, I've only put an hour on it since putting in the SeaFoam but so far it now bogs down at 40 mph instead of 30 so it is getting better.

Anyway back to todays problem with the '97, if the new plugs don't solve the problem, is there anything else I can test or try before going down the path of replacing the fuel lines and cleaning the carbs?

Also a second question, I have wooden ramps with carpet cover skids that I drive the skis onto and winch up the ramp. I can't access the intake plate while they are on the ramp to check if anything got clogged in there. I'd like to winch it up the ramp backwards to get access to the plate, but didnt know if the tow hook on the back was strong enough to hook the winch line to? I didn't want to try without checking first and rip the hook right out of the hull.

Thanks.
