I have a 1997 GSX, the white machine with red and has loads of red decals.
had the machine for three years, only had 19 hours on it when we bought it.
We have loved it and it looks brand new, always kept under the cover.
anyways, my wife hit a wave the other day and the rubber buttons for the power trim seemed to have shifted up a bit within the steering wheel.
They are like a black rubber button cover. The buttons are actually behind these rubber things. I can stick my pinky finger in and press the white button behind to lower trim and use the rest of the black rubber button to activate the trim to trim up so it works fine, but we'd love to get it back in its proper position. We are also concerned that if it got wet inside these buttons now if anything would go wrong, elcetrically or otherwise. ANy idea how to slide this thing back down would be greatly appreciated. I have somewhat tried flat head screwdriver and needlenose plyers, but i'm worried about either wrecking the buttons or ripping the rubber for the buttons.
Thanks,
