I am going to redo my fuel line on my GSX. Still has the nasty gray line. Any tips on the line i should buy? I know i am in for a job im sure. Also, I am thinking the oil pump is not working. I took her out and she was smoking a bit. The plugs were black and looked as if they were getting oil but i noticed the oil level was not going down after a day of riding. I mixed a little oil in the fuel just to be sure. Ran it all day, put it on the trailer, started it up to blow the water out and it died. Cranks like crazy but no start. Not sure what i did. I have spark. The plug looks as if it is getting too much fuel. I pull the plugs and clean them, replace if needed. Try it all again. Cranks but no start. Spray starter fluid in the spark arrester and it will run. Leads me to believe a fuel issue so thats why i am replacing the lines. Any suggestions?

Change the fuel selector valve to "reserve" and see if it fires up. If so, you need to clean your fuel selector valve while changing your fuel lines.

i will try that. i thought i was flooding it so i cranked and cranked with the fuel completely off. the plugs still came out black. even just cranking. i forgot to mention the valve on the rear exhaust leaks water, a fine mist when the boat is running. now the left rear of the boat leaks water in. Originally thought it was the drain plug. tightened them up and still a leak. I will post some pictures to aide. I also found a spring in the bottom of the hull. not really sure what the spring goes too. all my valves are intact. the seadoo dealer even told me the valves had been replaced once due to a recall or seadoo bulletin. I have spark, working on the fuel, lanyard works, battery works, etc. she used to bust right off.

just got back from my mechanic. he says it will not run b/c the crank is out. it turns over but it is sluggish, like the battery is dying. he says this is the crank. does this sound right?

It honestly sounds like your battery is dying.

Early this year my battery was plenty strong enough to turn the engine but not strong enough to get fuel to the engine. Charged it up over night, hooked it back up pushed the start button and it fired without starter fluid.

Try a different battery before you pay money.

i will try that again. i have swapped batteries with my stand ups, charged them ovn, (1amp charger). i can crank away on the seadoo with a fresh batt, no go. take that same batt to one of my stand ups and it fires right off. the seadoo was out of the water, i was blowing the water out of it, i gave her a lil rev and it went bwwwwwwwt and died. since then i cannot get it started again. its not like i pinned it while out of the water. i have done this many times before, the dealer said it was a good thing........ ill try that. thanks for the quick replies fellas.....:ack:

na the new battery went dead from cranking so much. i didnt want to burn the starter up so i stopped. im thinkin the crank is shot. been browsing sbt, gonna try to slap a silver engine in it. trying to see if a gsx limited engine will work w/o having to change the computer and such. going to tulsa tonight to pick up a js550 hull and pump minus the motor. gonna work on that this weekend and get it riding nice, then ill focus on ordering a new engine from sbt. might just mod the f*** out of the 787 and see how tht goes....... im gonna price some parts tonight when i get back from t-town. thanks for the help man....
