I have 97 GS. On my last run to the lake last year about halfway through the day the motor started to miss really bad intermittently under load. That day I checked the plugs & sparks & everything seemed fine, but i still missed so I trailered it. Now that warm weather is back I pulled it out to de-winterize & see if I couldn't figure it out. I found a loose ground for the ignition, where the deustch type connector is on the front of the engine & tightened that up (it was arcing pretty bad & had actually burnt the paint) Haven't had a chance to put in the water ,but it seems to run better except for now it's popping out the exhaust which it never did before. Going to the lake on tuesday for a test run & will update on what I find then. Was just wondering if I was ontrack with the bad ignition ground causing the missfire. Also, any performance parts available for this model?

as with any ignition system they require so many volts to function correctly, it is something that could cause a problem, but more or less it is hard to guess without being there, go take it for a ride see how it does. That will work better then guessing.
