97 GP760...totally dead, disconnect battery for 5 seconds, it cranks over.

Hello all, I'm working on a waverunner this time. Strange how it will crank over once, but not twice. Found if I pull the one and only fuse (I've found so far), or disconnect the battery, it will crank over again, even runs, from an auxiliary fuel source. It's been sitting since 2005. But if it dies, it won't even crank over until I disconnect the power.
Obviously something resets, like a thermal breaker or ? Open the electrical box, didn't see anything. Am going to trace the power, starting at the battery when I find a WIRING DIAGRAM. Yamaha wants $90 for a manual printed, or $15 for a 30 day view of one online, no copying or printing tho. Has anybody ran into a situation like this before?

Yeah, aint no seadoo, don't belong here, but those Yamaha waverunner forums are pretty lame. Anyway, JFYI, my problem was the LCD gauge cluster, or all in one. unplugged everything from it and problem solved. Now to drain the tank of that 20 yr old fuel and put some new parts in the two carbs, and a new fuel filter. Oil injection pump has no throttle cable connected to it. Pump is mounted on the mag end on the crank, looks like direct drive, I reckon rpm dictates injection metering.
