Hey all,
I sucked up some rocks while being impatient and chewed up my impeller and wear ring. This is a single engine 97 Challenger. I am not sure if I will keep or sell it (I'd like a fishing boat). I just do not know if it fixable, if I should take it in and have it repaired, or if I can just grind it down.
I have no idea if this is an upgraded version (Skatcat, ...) or just an OEM. It almost looks like it has been ground down before.

I hate to ask for opinions, but...
Thanks in advance!!

That looks like you could file it, especially if youre gonna sell it, you need to take the impeller out of the pump to see the whole thing

Yeah - I still need to get the impeller removal tool but alas I think I found much of the problem... Look close the rock is still in there. Funny, The impeller still spins. I am ordering the whole wear ring kit from ODT with the DELIN wear ring. I will take a better look at the impeller after i take it out but I can already tell it has been ground down before.

After removing the impeller and shaft I think I am going to replace everything.

Impeller - it is not too bad but I can tell the rock bent the leading edge of the impeller blades. Not much but this is a single engine and to lose 10-15% might be pretty noticeable. The OEM impeller (204160027) is no longer available. Anyone using Solas in an 97 single engine challenger?

Shaft - I can run my finger nail up and down the shaft and feel grooves. Would you sand them out with a fine Emery cloth or replace it.

Bearings - they are part of the kit but Before I start... Is there an easy way to remove the bearings from the jet pump for the impeller shaft?

For $69 sbt will send you a reconditioned impeller and you send yours back in the box. I would replace the impeller shaft with an OEM one if it were mine and i was keeping it. I rented this from autozone, worked great, but it was the same thing as an OTC 4581 blind bearing puller. It has 3 fingers that expand and it hooks on a slide hammer and pops that mug right out. Get OEM or equivalent bearings also
