I have a 97 challenger. Ran great. Now it fires for a second then stalls. Seems like its starving for fuel. The clear fuel filter empties and doesnt fill fast enough. Rebuilt carbs which were brand new two years ago and have the same result. Bypassed the fuel selector with no luck.

When I open gas cap there does t seem to be any pressure built up. Is there a check valve before the vent.

Check your pulse line going from the engine block to the carbs and make sure it is not loose, pinched, cracked or broken.

a couple things coming to mind.....

First, the clear filters don't normally "Fill". When air gets to them... it will get trapped most of the time. They can look almost empty, but fuel is physically flowing. So, that's not an issue.

The second thing is... normally if an engine starts, and then shuts off... that's a sign of an electrical issue. If it's starting... stumbling... and then sputtering to a stop. That's fuel. SO, from your description, I would look for a chaffed wire, or bad connection on the ignition system. FYI... I had a Yamaha that would do that, and I found that the coil on the stator got rubbed, and was shorting.
