96GTX Infometer ( center guage )

appears to be getting power but I cant seem to read it. Just curious is this a normal problem other folks have seen? Where do I start trouble shooting this guage ?The red lights work and it appears though faintly the number work but the fuel qty is not readable , Any suggestions

Does it appear to look brownish in color and a little flaky? If so I have a cheap fix for you. Takes about 45 minutes to an hour and it will look new again. I have priced these on ebay and they go for 300 to 400 used. I have no idea what a new one cost or even if you can get a new one. I just did one on my 97 GTX this past weekend.

Not sure what flaky means but up for suggestions

it almost looks like the leds are trying to come through but dont it looks like it has a bubble of plastic that covers the led but is crackled and bubbly any help will appreciated.
