Ve920 96xp

Hello, I have am trying to complete a custom setup on a 96 Seadoo XP. I have a Ve920 motor with about 5 hours on it, factory spec 2 pipe with ecwi micro-touch rev, VE Head running 93 octane with Buckshot 46 mm carbs, Solas prop into a R&D 85/88 nozzle. I was having some trouble with at idle when I would first launch and concluded that my exhaust system was taking in too much water when in the water. Ski runs fine on land, and fine when under throttle, but when I throttle back it stalls. I put it back on the trailer and it starts after a few tries and spits out water. Before touching the water pressure flow regulator, I decided to upgrade my waterbox and found a modified 96 xp waterbox with hollowed baffles for greater exhaust flow and a jet on top to match the water injection system. I would like to remove the water pressure flow regulator all together but don't know if this is a good idea. The new waterbox only has one inlet jet and this seems as if I need to re-route one or more of my spec 2 pipe hoses. Is this a good idea ? I want to take full advantage of this setup but do not want to put my engine at risk.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks,
George

i think factory pipe still has instructions on their site for the 785 setup.
i have a 96 xp with the factorypipe and a msd water injection setup and i still run the oem reg.with the carb jet in the nipple as instructed by factorypipe. iv had this since it was all new in 96 and it still works. if you need pics send me a message.

Water regulator proper adjustment

Ok, factory pipes website says to leave the regulator on for the spec2, this might be ok but I still don't know how to jet the nipple on the new waterbox ? Also once I have everything re-installed I need to find the proper adjustment for the regulator valve. Factory pipe says to turn it all the way in, and then out 2 to 1 turns ? Does this mean tighten until the red top is flush with the black and then 2 clicks out ? Or 2 full turns out ? Or should it be tightened down all the way and then 2 full turns out ?
