96 Waverunner III steering problem

Alright just got my old waverunner running, and the steering feels almost like its got a notch wore in it. It turns to the right and when you turn back to the left it hits a "bump" and then turns freely. I know it may sound confusing but I dont know how else to describe it. This is only under power, at idle or off it functions fine. The only play I can find is the rear of the nozzle has some up/down play. The steering cable is visually in good shape. Any help is much appreciated. Anyone want to trade their seadoo for this yamaha. I will never own another yamha, as my other ski is a 95 sp that will smoke this yamaha.:rofl::rofl:

yep...poopers, and the new ones look HORRID>>>> have you lubed the cable, and ckeck for obstructions, see if someone will turn it slow on the trailer...slow slow slow... maybe you'll feel it a lil, you sit at the back looking at nozzle and see if it may be catching on something!!! or just F it it's a yamy, stunt bike it for a while sink it and claim it...lol
