Hi Everyone
getting back into pwc with a 96 spx 720. last model owned years ago was an 89 waverunner.
so i have had the carbs rebuilt and waiting to dial them in due to the fact i only have spark on one cylinder. my mechanic says bad coil. does this sound like Mpem issue as well. i dont want to buy more parts then what i need
Thanks

He may be right, or he is wrong, the wire may be burnt at the end inside the rubber boot. Pull the boot (or unscrew) off and it its burnt, cut 1/4" off or a little more till ya have good wire (if it still reaches) put boot back on, zip tie, dielectrical grease and try again.

The 720 coil is a CDI, and coil in one unit. Also... it fires both plugs together. Chances are... if it's firring one... it's OK. I would vote for a burnt wire too. Take the boot off, and cut it back about 1/4", and check to see if the wire is clean.
