Finally picked up a 96 Speedster a few weeks ago with 2 rebuilt from the bottom up motors. I was very excited getting this this out to the cottage this past weekend and seeing what kind of power she had 
However, I ran into several problems:
First time out the boat would not plain - kept bouncing off the rev limiter. I would take it easy but just wouldn't get up.
Took another passenger out and it seemed to plain a little easier - wondering if the passenger side motor was out of the water a bit? I am 260lbs and am thinking that did it?
With myself and one passenger in pretty calm conditions the speedo would only register 46MPH
The passenger side motor at times would not respond in RPM to the "thrust lever" (gas pedal). I would need to shut it off restart then it seemed fine.
Drivers side tach not working - what is the process to fix/assess the problem on that?
Do both motors at 6000RPM = 31MPH?? - seemed like a high RPM to me...
Bilge water pump was working but not placed down far enough and I got some water in there I wasn't expecting. Should it be attached to a bracket or anything?
Any detailed (with pics preferrably) instructions on the carrier mod? I keep hearing about it but have no idea what it is.
Other than that was a great weekend. The steering seemed heavy but was tonnes of fun. I ripped by our dock with my wife filming us on the digital camera and sprayed her with so much water the camera shutoff and she was soaked!! haha:cheers:
