All of the upholstery came out pretty straight forward. Mine arms were just long enough for the seat bolts.
My problem, the seat back arm rests appear to be bolted in place. The seat back had two bolts in the engine compartment and the two arm rest bolts. I cannot believe there is anyway to reach these bolts. I have removed the drink holder and I can tap the bolt with a socket wrench. I don't have anyway to apply any leverage to actually remove them yet again replace them.

Help Help Help, any suggestions

Thanks Scott

Hey Scott, I looked in forum's manual library section and it tells where the bolts are but not how to remove them. I have a 1997 Challenger which is similar in design. I haven't had my seats out, but I would suggest that you remove the shift/throttle linkage to gain access to the bolts on the starboard side(right side). If you can feel the bolts they should be able to be removed. Try a different position to get in that area. I'll check my boat later today if it isn't dark when I get out of work and see if I can take a look to maybe help you out.

Bolts

I removed the cup holder on the port side and I removed the throttle quadrant on the starboard side. This gave my wife with smaller diameter arms access to the bolts. The "97 manual mentions this as a method of getting at the bolts. I am unable to access the "96 manuals, (page not found). It was not that bad getting all of the upholstery out.

Access!

You would think they would have designed better access to the seating realizing with age comes cracks.

I just got a 96 sedoo challanger got all the seats out but the very front seat back rest any ideas how to get it out. Only thing thats close is the front light is the screws behing it?

If you go online to BAbbits and look in thier parts micro fische (like you are ordering parts) it shows the clips that hold the front seat. I was lucky that was the only upolstery that was like new! When i got my seats back they matched perfectly.

yah been there i see the bracket on the film but how do you get to the screws. Only thing i havent done yet is removed the front light to see if i can get to it from there.:ack:

Front seat and back rest just snap in. there is also a strap on front seat but I do not believe that will give you any problem. good luck when puting front back rest back in place because I believe they install the seats with the top part of the hull apart from the botom part if that makes sence. the top being the top deck. thats why they dont need small arms to bolt in seats. ps I did notice that yours is 1 year newer than mine. mine does not have the brackets but I bet they put yours together like mine. with the top of the boat removed from the bottom of the boat. that is the only way I could see it done on mine.

Looks the same as my Sportster, which 2 x-mas tree look'n snap pins at the bottom, and on top, are 2 metal post molded with the seat....pry from bottom

Manuals help...

According to the manual, you are suppose to be able to pull and lift the front back rest at the same time to release the darts. There are metal rods that run vertical into the top of the hull, while there are two darts that attach the seat into the vetical hull horizontally.

So, grab on each side and give it a snapping, upward type pull all at once.
CAUTION: The seat in the boat is old, so you may find it break easier than remove.

shoot i don't care if it breaks as long as i can put a new one on Thanks for the help now I'm off to rip the thing off with brute force:hurray: Hmm say anything about tying a rope to it and hooking it to the truck and pulling it off lol.
