Just came off a week of holidays at the cottage booting around in the Speedster. I am still having some problems but with more information now.

1. Top Speed - speedo reads 45MPH and the GPS confirmed 48.6MPH - low
2. Driver side tach not reading at all - what process should I follow to fix?
3. Acceleration - at times the only way I could get to plain was to have the motors slamming off the rev limiter for 4-6 seconds which is a bloody joke IMO.
4. Crusing RPM - 30MPH is 6000RPM wtf?? The boat is drinking the gas pretty heavily with those RPM's - I think 15MPH was 4200 RPM :(

The impellars look ok although the passenger side one looks a little more worn than the other side. I was thinking of re-sealing the ride shoes but the manual talks about possible damage when removing them... this true/likely?

Any help would be appreciated

First off to check the Tach, switch the gray pulse wire from one Tach to the other If it is the guage it will still not register the correct rpm's. I think your problem is the wear ring is bad and needs replacing . Here is the specs;

Wear Ring clearance for your seadoo 1.0 mm or (.040in) Measure the clearance at the center of the impeller blades, with a 12” long gauge. Measure the clearance from the venturi side of the jet pump.

If the wear ring is bad it would have high rpm's and eat the fuel as it isn't efficient anymore. People replace the wear ring all the time with out any problems.

I have no Idea...I don't even check on my own speedster... If it revs high and you not going anyplace chances it needs a wear ring replacment.
