Hello. I recently bought a 96 seadoo speedster. It was working great for a couple months. Recently taking it out to the lake it started having problems. I'm not smart at all when it comes to these but here's what's going on.

I was driving it at about 30-40 mph and I felt it cutting out. I stopped to check the gas and I had gas. So I tried to take off again and the boat felt like it didn't have any power. The rpm's on the left would go up to 6-7 as I tried to take off. The rpm's for the right would go up to 6 for about 2 sec then drop down to 3-4, Causing the boat not to level out. If someone could help me out it would make my day.

Thanks, Randy

I can say stop, and do not try and continue riding until this is resolved...
need some history on the boat, when was the last time the carbs were cleaned? maintenance?
you either have a carb/fueling issue, or the engine is about to seize...

I'm not sure i haven't done anything to it but change the spark plugs and put gas and oil in it. I got it 2 months ago.

Are both motors doing the same thing? I'm not sure but from what your saying it sounds like cavitation. Does the boat feel like it's revving normally and just not going anywhere, like a clutch or transmission in a car?

One motor is working fine it's just the one behind the driver. When I take off the motor on the driver side is acting like it doesn't have power. At 2/3s throttle is should smooth out right? The rpm's are going to 6000 and dropping to about 4500 without me ever changing throttle position. And then it'll just back to 6000 and then drop back down to 4500. And repeats that. Like its trying to but just won't.

And to answer your cavitation question. It would. I'd have is 3/4 throttle and it wouldn't level out and go. So I'd pull the throttle back and let the waves hit the back and the waves would give the boat that extra little bit to final level out. Then this problem started.
