96 speedster battery?

Looking to replace the battery in my 96 speedster. It has been converted to use one battery plus we have added a stereo system with a 2600 watt amp. What size/brand battery would you recommend? Should I add a dedicated battery for the stereo or just get one big battery?

I run dual batteries with a ab switch so if you kill one you have a back up. Makes charging easier just turn the switch to off and charge don't have to disconnect the cable.

I have a 4-Tec Speedster. I'm thinking about this same topic for my boat. The boat came with a group 24 battery. I have a few options to consider.

Keep the g24 battery and add an EC5 plug for a lithium boost box.

Upgrade to a group 27 battery and add an EC5 plug for a lithium boost box.

Keep the g24 battery and mount a second smaller boost battery from an RXP.

Mount two group 24 batteries. With an A/B switch.

Do I want the weight of two batteries (I'm considering carrying more fuel which adds weight too)? Will the charging system be able to charge two discharged batteries without blowing a fuse?

With an A/B switch, can you switch batteries while the engine is running?

If you get a battery isolator, do you no longer need an A/B switch? Can you use different sized batteries with an isolator or do they have to be the same size batteries?

I never tried to switch to the other battery when the boat is running. I am assuming you can as long as you don't pass off to kill the power. I think wiring the AB switch gives you more control. Its basically is the same thing but but the isolators do it automatically for you. I don't see why you can't use different size batteries. I use the same class in my boat but they are different types and amps and that. The isolator take place of the AB switch

I usually switch batteries when I beach the boat. I charge the batteries when I get home.

I will definitely go with a separate battery for the stereo So which would be the easiest way to go... A/b switch or isolator?
