Reliable and mod don't go together with sea doo. They do a great job during the development of these engines. They are already squeezing out the most power they can really make and still be reliable. Sure you can spend a bunch of money doing heads and other stuff, but the cost vs benefit isn't quite there. If you wanted to do head work and bore the carbs, It runs like $600 per engine. That's with you tearing it down and putting it back together. You will spend big bucks to squeeze out 2 mph on the average ski or boat. It won't be reliable and is a time bomb waiting to go off. If you want faster, change your impellers, make sure the wear rings and entire driveline are at their peak performance. Then focus on reducing the weight. You will get the same result cheaper, and still be just as reliable.
