Ok so I have rebuilt carbs, replaced grey fuel lines, cleaned raves and the machine will bog out when I hit WOT only allowing maybe 10 MPH. IF I play with the VTS while almost WOT (while bogging) the machine will start pulsing faster with every press of the VTS. If I keep flicking the VTS I can get it up to 30-35 MPH and then I just give up thinking to myself "there is something wrong". If I let it go back down to idle for about 30 sec's or so and hit WOT it'll kick in and rip your arms out. Somethimes while flying through the water I will lose all my power and it will go back to bogging until I take it back down to idle for 30 sec's and then off I go again.

This problem is intermitten at best and I really notice it when I first get out on the water for the first 10 minutes or so, then it's intermitten thereafter. I read on some forums around the web that a few people have had this problem and they said they replaced the rectifier and never had the problem again. Before I go and tear the carbs off and rebuild my freshly rebuilt carbs again I was wondering if anyone had some input. Everyone on this site has been such a great help getting me as far as I am I thought I'd stick with seadooforum.com as "home sweet home" for advice.

Cheers!

i noticed the same thing on mine but once I changed the battery for a brand new fresh one and it ran like a champ for a few hours after that. now its back to the same thing. I wish someone will chime in and give some expert advice cause I would really like to know. but the rectifier acting up sounds like a good possibility. anyway... free bump

thats a good indication of a bad rectifier. Problem is, the rectifier gave out, converting the ac to dc, which in turn, the system is run'n on "battery" juice.

Fire up ur ski, and hold throttle to 55oorpm, then at same time, check volts at battery, if above 15/low 13-12 ish, rectifier aint work'n.

so at idle it was reading about 15.8v
whatchu think?
is that enough to screw with the mpem and make it run like shit?

Let me know before I go out and order a new rectifier and dump a bunch of time into a fruitless repair.

Thanks again for your great advice.
