96 seadoo sportster jet boat few questions

Ok so got wiring issues took care of took it out to day we'll ran good smoke some but guy got it from said normal. But we we out someone on tube an the boat didn't want to pull it would never plane out and go motor sounded like is was hesitating an sound like was bouncing off a rev limiter. It was also smoking some white smoke some. But it only smoked white when try pulling tube.
When not pulling tube an in the boat it still like hesitated an took lil to plain out but once it did it would fly no problem . Boat capacity was 4 adults which is the limit on it. Is this normal for the boats or do I have problems going on

What rpm was the engine running at? If it was hitting only 3.5k it sounds like a neutral switch problem.

No idea only has fuel gauge. But when not pulling tube full throttle it was going 30mph with 4 adults. What the speedo app on. Y phone said

The sportster is a nice boat but with the single engine not the greatest on pulling tubes.I have the twin engine speedster 1995 and it pulls tubes or 1 skier.my boat told out at 55mph.
If you have hesitation when throttling up you need to fix that.your boat should do 45mph sounds like it needs carb work to me

So your saying this boat want pull a person on tube this sucks whole reason we got it lol. So if u can pull tube with it an only ride up am down the lake nothing eles this sucks haha.

It will. Just expect it to take a little longer. I'd pm dr Honda about it. He had a sportster and if I remember got an aftermarket impeller to help with the holeshot
